A former director of medieval studies at L’École française de Rome, Jacques Dalarun is now a director of the Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (CNRS). He dedicates his research to the history of saintliness, women and the Franciscan tenure. He is the author of Robert d’Abrissel (Payot, 1986) and François d’Assise (Payot, 1997).
