Marie Darrieussecq
Marie Darrieusecq was born in 1969 in Bayonne, France. In 1996, at the age of 27, she published her first novel, Truismes (Pig Tales), which became an overnight sensation and bestseller. It has been translated throughout the world, published in thirty-four countries, and is currently being adapted to the screen by filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. The New Yorker featured her as France’s "best young novelist" in their special Europe issue of April 27 & May 4, 1998. Her most recent novels include Naissance des fantômes (1998), Le mal de mer (1999) and Bref séjour chez les vivants (2000).
