Hwang Sok-yong’s 2001 Daesan Award-winning novel The Guest (L’Invité, Zulma, 2004), set just before the Korean War, will be released in English by Seven Stories Press this fall. His first novel, Monsieur Han (1972), has been published in Germany, Italy, France, and Holland.
