Michel Morange is a professor of biology at Université de Paris VI and at the École Normale Supérieure where he runs the Centre Cavaillès d'histoire et de philosophie des sciences. He is the author of several books on the history of biology in the twentieth century, including L'Histoire de la biologie moléculaire (Éditions de la Découverte, 1994/Harvard University Press, 1998).
