Educated at the École Normale Supérieure and a holder of the agrégation, Gilles Lecuppre lectures in medieval history at the University of Paris X-Nanterre. His first book, this study takes its place in PUF’s prestigious “Gordian Knot” collection, in which has appeared such titles as Franck Collard’s Le crime de poison au Moyen Âge, to be published in English by the Greenwood Group.
