Pierre Delerive, a French-born New Yorker, is the author of Simple Soldat (Albin Michel 1994), Victor et les femmes (Buchet Chastel, 2002),Te souviens-tu de moi? (Buchet Chastel, 2004) and Bayou (unpublished; film rights sold to Acacias Films). He wrote and directed Le fusil de Bois, an award-winning movie set during the Algerian war. He just completed a new novel, Un passé reconstruit, the story of a "malgré-nous", one of the 130,000 Frenchmen forced to serve in the German army.
