Philippe Djian was born in Paris in 1949. His best-seller 37۫˚2 le matin was published by Grove/Atlantic under the title Betty Blue, and was adapted for the big screen by Jean-Jacques Beineix. He lived in the US and Switzerland before settling back to Paris.
