Pascal Bruckner’s Lune de fiel (Evil Angels, Grove Press, 1987) was adapted for the screen by Roman Polanski as Bitter Moon. His other translated works include The Divine Child (Little, Brown, 1994) and The Tears of the White Man: Compassion as Contempt (The Free Press, 1986). He has won numerous prizes, including the Prix Renaudot, the Prix Medicis, and the Grand Prix de l’Académie Française.
