Michael Kleeberg was born in Stuttgart in 1959. He worked as a translator of French (Proust, Huysmans) and English (Dos Passos), living in Rome, Burgundy, and Paris before moving to Berlin in 2000. His novel The King of Corsica was published by the Other Press last May, and Words Without Borders excerpted The Communist of Montmartre in its July 2008 newsletter. His literary awards include the Anna Seghers Prize (1996), the Lion Feuchtwanger Prize (2000), and two working scholarships from the German Literature Fund.
