"Manages with verve to offer a 240-page outline of Iran, past and present."—Delphine Minoui, Le Figaro
Iran from A to Z highlights and describes the essential Iran, concentrating not only on prominent personalities but also on daily-life issues. The book opens a window onto a country that has become, within thirty years, a controversial nation and a center of attention in the international political scene.
Iran from A to Z introduces the country’s culture and history and shows how they contribute to its present-day political and social characteristics. The diverse content is shown by the chapter names, including “Ahmadinejad,” “Carpet,” “Chador,” “Drugs,” “Elections,” “Gasoline,” “Khomeini,” “Persian,” “Tehran,” and “Women.” The book is a reliable source of information about Iran, answering many of the questions that arise as we consider the country.
